Specialty Care Transports (SCT)
Century Ambulance Service, Inc. provides an additional level of care beyond ALS transport. These transports fall under the category of Specialty Care Transport or SCT. Patients requiring this level of service require care at a level that standard paramedic training does not cover. Our paramedics that perform these transports have all received additional specialized training specific to the many and diverse needs and challenges these patients' medical conditions pose. Each of our paramedics are well versed in the use of our ventilators and bi-paps including troubleshooting and patient care in the event of equipment failure. Our crews have also been trained to work well with additional levels of support such as nurses, respiratory techs, and physicians for the patients requiring the additional hands and skills. All of our 24hr shift medics have received additional certification in the form of the nationally recognized Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program.
