Critical Care Services
Due to the ever increasing volume of critical care patients in the counties we serve, the partnerships with the local neonatal and pediatric hospitals, and the rural locations we transport to and from, Century Ambulance Service, Inc. made the decision to add an additional layer of certification to all of our 24 hour paramedic requirements. In this search for additional training we were made aware of the CCEMTP program created by UMBC. CCEMTP is an educational program designed by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in response to the growing need for qualified specialists in the area of critical care inter-facility transfer.
In anticipation of future changes in state requirements and to ensure that we can not only provide appropriate levels of care for the more critical patients we transport but exceed all expectations in the abilities and knowledge of our crews Century has provided at its own expense the Critical Care Emergency Transport Program (CCEMTP) created by UMBC to all of our 24 hour paramedics and to almost all of our full time and part time paramedics. This extra level of care not only places Century Ambulance Service, Inc. in a league of its own. We currently have more CCEMTP certified paramedics than any other ambulance/rescue service in the region, private or public. This is another example of the committment to excellence maintained over the years by Century Ambulance Service, Inc.
A CCEMTP certified paramedic has received extensive training in dealing with the following critical care needs:
